A 91-year-old local man died following being struck by a vehicle backing out of a driveway on East Plymouth Street.
Long Beach, CA, May 16, 2022 — Song Srun has been identified by authorities as the victim in a pedestrian collision that occurred on May 14 in Long Beach. Song Srun, a 91-year-old local resident was walking on 1600 block of East Plymouth Street. At about 9:45 a.m., the victim was struck by a vehicle that was backing out of a driveway. First-responders arrived and took the man to an area hospital. The victim very sadly died from his injuries the next day. The driver of the vehicle reportedly remained and cooperated with investigator. The Long Beach Police Department reportedly does not suspect distracted driving or excessive speed. Nevertheless, the police have asked for the help of any witnesses as the investigation continues.
