Shantel Hamilton, a 36-year-old local resident was using a scooter to cross when she was struck by a vehicle described as a gray BMW 5 Series, 2011-to-2014. The incident occurred at the intersection of G Street and 25th Street prior to 9:00 a.m. The victim was taken for treatment with critical injuries but tragically died at the hospital. Meahwhile, authorities allege that the driver of the BMW fled the area while making no attempt to help the victim. Reports indicate that the car would have front-end damage.
