Richard Madrid has been charged with murder after an alleged DUI collision killed one Colton resident and injured another.
Rialto, CA, June 13, 2022 — Priscilla Hernandez has been identified by authorities as the deceased victim in an alleged DUI two-vehicle collision that occurred on June 8 in Rialto. Richard Madrid has been charged in connection with the fatal crash which also injured a passenger. Colton residents Priscilla Hernandez, 40, and driver Juan Cordova, 38, were in a Chevrolet HHR that was heading east on Third Street when the incident began. At around 9:15 p.m., authorities say that a Mercedes C63 being driven by 38-year-old Fontana resident Richard Madrid was travelling at an excessive speed on Riverside Avenue when it collided with the Chevrolet at the intersection. Meanwhile, Richard Madrid was treated for minor injuries. Police determined that he was under the influence at the time of collision. Authorities add that the 38-year-old Fontana resident had a record that included four convictions on DUI-related charges and had been on probation from 2016 to 2019. He was charged with murder and taken to West Valley Detention Center where he is being held in lieu of $2.5 million in bail. The Rialto Police Department is requesting the assistance of any witnesses to the tragic incident as the investigation continues.
