A 42-year-old local resident was found dead after a 911 call on Pigeon Pass Road near the 60 Freeway.
Moreno Valley, CA, May 12, 2022 — Mario Zavala has been identified by authorities as the victim in an apparent hit-and-run collision that was discovered on May 9 in Moreno Valley. Mario Zavala, a 42-year-old local resident, was found dead by authorities on the shoulder of the southbound side of Pigeon Pass Road near the 60 Freeway (aka the Moreno Valley Freeway) at about 12:40 a.m. Authorities were responding to a 911 cal. The circumstances of the incident that killed the victim are not known but authorities say his injuries indicated that he had been killed in a traffic collision. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the tragic incident and asking for the help of any witnesses.
