Two Florida women, age 31 and 72, died and two local residents were hurt in a chain reaction pedestrian collision near the Yerba Buena Center.
San Francisco, CA, May 24, 2022 — Mary Henderson and Willa Henderson have been identified by authorities as the deceased victims in a freak pedestrian collision that occurred on May 22 in San Francisco. Vero Beach, Florida residents Willa Henderson, age 31, 72-year-old Mary Henderson, and an unnamed male were walking on the street in the vicinity of 3rd and Mission streets near the Yerba Buena Center when the tragic episode began. At 4:30 p.m., reports say that a yellow cab and another vehicle collided undercircumstance that have not been described. In the chaos that followed, the taxi veered onto the sidewalk where it fatally struck Mary and Willa Henderson. The unnamed man was taken for treatment for injuries that were described as not life-threatening. The taxi cab driver was also hurt, reports say. The San Francisco Police Department is soliciting the help of any witnesses as the investigation into the deadly collision continues.
