According to CBS Los Angeles, one person killed in traffic accident by a vehicle on the 10 Freeway in El Monte, Monday morning. The crash was reported at 4:03 a.m. on the westbound San Bernardino Freeway at Cogswell Road, said California Highway Patrol Officer Elizabeth Kravig and CHP shut down some lanes.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, and it is possible the person killed was a pedestrian, Kravig said.
The CHP issued a SigAlert shutting down westbound lanes 3 and 4 west of Durfee Avenue. The lanes were reopened around 7:30 a.m.
According to our information Robert Woo of El Monte, 86-year-old, died at the scene; he was the person killed in traffic accident while walking on the freeway, and it was unclear why” authorities said.
