Plane crashes into San Diego neighborhood, igniting fires and panic
On the morning of May 22, 2025, a Cessna 550 private jet crashed into a residential neighborhood in San Diego’s Murphy Canyon area, near Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport. The crash sparked fires that damaged at least 15 homes and several vehicles, prompting the evacuation of more than 100 residents. All individuals on board the aircraft were killed, but no injuries were reported on the ground.
