Tragic Head-On Collision in Imperial County
A devastating head-on collision occurred on Forrester Road, north of Keystone Road, in Imperial County on the morning of May 12. The California Highway Patrol reported the incident at approximately 9:20 a.m.
The accident involved a black 2017 Toyota Camry driven by a 71-year-old woman and a white 2015 Honda Accord driven by a 35-year-old woman, who was accompanied by her one-year-old daughter. For reasons still under investigation, the Camry veered into the southbound lane, resulting in a head-on collision with the Accord.
Tragically, the 71-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The 35-year-old driver of the Accord sustained major injuries to her lower body and was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center for treatment. Her infant daughter suffered minor injuries.
