Fatal Collision at Westlake Intersection
A tragic accident occurred late Sunday night at the intersection of Eighth and Alvarado Streets in Los Angeles, resulting in the death of one pedestrian and critical injuries to another.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident happened around 11:50 p.m. A car traveling southbound on Alvarado Street collided with another vehicle heading westbound on Eighth Street. The force of the collision propelled the southbound car onto the sidewalk, striking two pedestrians.
Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and transported both men to a nearby hospital. Tragically, a 45-year-old man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The other pedestrian remains in critical condition.
The condition of the drivers involved in the crash has not been disclosed, and authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
