Jay Suitter Injured in Salkum Accident on U.S. Highway 12

Jay R. Suitter, 69, from Ethel, suffered significant injuries in a collision on U.S. Highway 12 near Salkum on Sunday afternoon. The Washington State Patrol (WSP) reported the incident occurred at approximately 10:45 a.m. on May 11.

Suitter was driving a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria eastbound when he slowed down to make a left turn. At that moment, his vehicle was struck from behind by a 2005 Ford Crown Victoria driven by Delila M. Westmoreland, 35, of Mossyrock.

Due to the severity of his injuries, Suitter was airlifted to Tacoma General Hospital for medical treatment. The WSP has indicated that following too closely may have contributed to the crash. The investigation into the accident is still ongoing.
