Yoko Beers, 86 and a resident of Santa Ana, has been identified by authorities as the deceased in a two-vehicle collision that occurred on August 8 in Fountain Valley. Ms. Beers was a passenger in an SUV that collided with a pickup truck at a location that has not been described, though the time of incident appears to have been just prior to 4:00 p.m. Ms. Beers was severely injured in the crash and taken to UC Irvine Medical Center. She remained there until she finally succumbed to her injuries on August 21. Two others were reportedly injured and the incident was reported to still be under investigation.
