William Finn has been identified by authorities as the victim in an alleged hit-and-run pedestrian collision that occurred on October 20 in Redding. Mr. Finn, an 53-year-old local resident, was crossing the intersection of Eureka Way and California Street in an electric wheelchair at the intersection of Cement Hill and Laurel Creek Park at roughly 11:45 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle which has not been described. First-responders found the man lying in the road with the driver allegedly having left the scene and having made no attempt to help. Mr. Finn was taken to a hospital in critical condition but tragically died from his injuries later. An investigation and a search for the suspected motorist is ongoing.
