Travis Earle Carlson has been identified by authorities as the victim in a pedestrian collision that occurred on June 11 in Yucca Valley. Mr. Carlson was crossing the intersection of Old Woman Springs Road and Twentynine Palms Highway in his wheelchair at around 10:00 p.m. when a Jeep SUV struck him. Mr. Carlson, a 50-year-old Landers resident, was taken by first responders to the emergency room at the Hi-Desert Medical Center, where he perished from his injuries. Area authorities are investigating the incident.
