
A Honda struck a Santa Ana Police Department SUV; a woman inside the Honda died shortly afterward.
Santa Ana, CA November 23, 2020 — Selina Resendiz Yanez has been identified by authorities as the deceased in an alleged DUI collision involving a police car that occurred on November 20 in Santa Ana. Jesus Emmanuel Perez been charged in the tragic case. Selina Yanez, a 25-year-old local resident, of was a passenger in a Honda being driven by Jesus Perez at about 11:20 p.m. The car was heading eastward on Washington Avenue when it crashed into a stationary SUV belonging to the Santa Ana Police Department. First-responders determined that Ms. Yaniz was badly injured and took her to an area hospital where she died. The two police officers in the SUV complained of pains and were taken for treatment as well. Jesus Emmanuel Perez was arrested on charges of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. The traffic division of the Santa Ana Police Department is investigating the deadly collision.
