Sabrina Yarnell has been identified by authorities as the deceased in a two-vehicle collision that occurred in the city of Modesto on April 30. Her passenger, Joaquin McKenzie, 36, was seriously injured. Ms. Yarnell, 27, was driving a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck on Yosemite Boulevard prior to 7:00 a.m. when the truck was struck broadside by an Acura. The collision apparently trapped both occupants, who were later removed by first-responders. Ms. Yarnell was treated by the firefighters, but she apparently died at the scene. Mr. McKenzie was taken to an area hospital and was in serious condition. The driver of the Acura reportedly declined treatment. Modesto police are investigating the incident to determine the cause.
