Robert Louis Sawyer has been identified by authorities as the deceased in a four-vehicle collision that occurred on August 3 in Sacramento. Mr. Sawyer, 50, was driving a Dodge van on Levee Road at about 11:45 p.m. when he collided with a Toyota Corolla being driven by 29-year-old Amardeep Singh who had turned into his lane from Elkhorn Boulevard. The forced of the crash caused the Toyota sedan to hit the side of an Audi and then a Toyota pick-up truck. Mr. Sawyer died at the scene from his injuries while first-responders also found two injured individuals. Mr. Singh was found by authorities to have a blood alcohol content over the legal limit. He was arrested on DUI and vehicular manslaughter charges. The case remains under investigation.
