Robert Sawaya Dead in Riverside County Two-Vehicle Accident

Robert Sawaya has been identified by authorities as the deceased in a two-vehicle collision that occurred on September 7 in Riverside prior to 3:00 p.m. Mr. Sawaya, a 61-year-old Coachella resident, was headed east on the 10 Freeway in Buick SUV when his vehicle crashed into a Ford Focus. The impact caused the Buick to overturn. First responders took the severely injured man to a Palm Springs hospital where he perished from his injuries. The occupants of the Ford, two women age 23 and 20, were not injured. The incident remains under investigation.
