Raymundo Navarro, 68, has been identified by authorities as the primary victim in a fatal wrong-way collision involving multiple vehicles. Mr. Navarro was driving on the 101 in Salinas at approximately 7:30 p.m. in his 2004 Nissan Frontier when a pickup truck driven by Luciano Rojas Medina allegedly travelled northbound on the southbound side of the road, striking Mr. Navarro’s car with his Chevrolet Silverado pick-up, apparently the driver. The pickup also hit two other automobiles. Mr. Medina, 44, and two other drivers were also injured. The alleged wrong-way driver is under arrest driving under the influence.
We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the victim during this difficult time.
