Raymond MacDonald, 33, has been identified by authorities as the deceased in a bicycle accident that occurred on the morning of March 30 in Huntington Beach. Victor Romero, a 25-year-old Garden Grove resident has been arrested in the case. The incident reportedly happened at roughly 2 a.m. when Mr. MacDonald was riding a bicycle across the street at Beach Boulevard and Adams Avenue. While the bicyclist was reportedly in the crosswalk, a BMW driven by Mr. Romero went through a red light, striking the man. Mr. MacDonald died at the scene. Huntington Beach police allege that Mr. Romero continued driving and collided with a tree close to the scene. Mr. Romero was apprehended by police shortly afterward and later charged with second-degree murder. The incident is reportedly under investigation.
