Ramon Velasquez-Torres has been identified by authorities as the victim in a pedestrian collision that occurred on August 5 in Watsonville. Mr. Velasquez-Torres, a 28-year-old resident of Salinas was reportedly hit by a vehicle in the vicinity Mar Monte Avenue and Vista Point on State Route 1 at roughly 9:30 p.m. A driver identified as a 40-year-old Gilroy resident driving a 2012 Toyota Prius was at the wheel of the car, which stopped at the scene. An investigation is ongoing.
