Paul Edward Palmer, a 76-year-old resident of San Diego, has been identified by authorities as the deceased in an automotive collision that occurred on October 28 in Del Mar. Mr. Palmer was driving a Honda CR-V SUV on Camino Del Mar at roughly 4:00 in the afternoon when reports indicate his vehicle veered into the opposing side of the street. The SUV reportedly sideswiped a Toyota RAV4 before it collided head-on with a van, a Toyota Previa. Mr. Palmer died at the scene. The occupants of the Previa, a male and female age 28 and 27, were seriously injured and taken to La Jolla’s Scripps Memorial Hospital. DUI is not suspected to be a factor, say authorities.
We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the deceased during this difficult time and our thoughts go out to the injured.
