Patricia Ann O’Donnell has been identified by authorities as the victim in an alleged hit-and-run DUI skateboard vs. car collision that took place in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Playa del Rey on February 13. Ms. O’Donnell, 48, was demonstrating her new skateboard for a friend first in a parking lot near the intersection of Manchester Avenue and Pershing Drive at roughly 1:15 a.m. When the woman took the skateboard on the street, she was struck by a vehicle described as a Audi A5, black in color. The woman died at the scene as driver Patrick Finkelstein, a 45-year-old Santa Monica Resident, allegedly fled the scene in the car. The man was subsequently located and arrested for vehicular manslaughter and DUI, reports indicate. The car was impounded and is being held as evidence. The LAPD investigation is ongoing.
We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the victim during this difficult time.
