Nancy Jimenez, Javier Urenda, and Cielo Urenda – all Fremont residents — have been identified by authorities as the deceased in a tragic head-on collision that occurred on January 15 in Placerville on Highway 50. Mr. Urenda, 51, and Ms. Jimenez, 24, were in a car together with an infant, 1-year-old Cielo, just prior to 6:30 p.m. The vehicle apparently went out of control and crashed into another auto, killing the three occupants of the first car. The driver of the other car also sustained serious injuries and was airlifted by first responders. According to reports, inclement weather and speed were likely factors in the crash. The incident is being investigated by authorities.
We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and families of the deceased during this difficult time.
