Michael Charles Place has been identified by authorities as the victim in pedestrian collision involving a truck that took place in Desert Center on December 16. Little information has been revealed about the deadly crash other than it happened near the 114 mile marker on State Route 177 at about 6:15 p.m. when the man was struck by a truck, dying from his injuries roughly after 6:30 p.m. It appears the California Highway Patrol may be investigating the incident. Mr. Place was 42-years-old.
