Mark Ward has been identified by authorities as the victim in a motorcycle collision that occurred on September 25 in Rio Linda. Mr. Ward, a 30-year-old Sacramento resident, was riding a Yamaha R6 motorcycle westbound on West Elkhorn Boulevard at about 9:00 p.m. At the same time, a Chevrolet Impala reportedly made a left turn in front of the motorcycle on West 2nd Street and the two vehicles collided. Mr. Ward was thrown from his bike and died at the scene of the accident. The driver of the Impala, a 38-year old local resident, reportedly remained at the scene. The tragic incident is being investigated by the California Highway Patrol, which is also seeking out any witnesses.
