Mark Alarcon, a member of the Bay Area Freeway Service Patrol, has been identified by authorities as the victim in a pedestrian accident that occurred on June 23 in Dublin. Mr. Alarcon, a 61-year-old San Jose resident, was attempting to help a driver in a stalled car on the I-280 Freeway between Edgewood Road and Farm Hill Boulevard at about 3:40 p.m. when a lumber track struck and killed him. The driver of the lumber truck, 25 and also a San Jose resident remained at the scene. The tragic incident is being investigated to determine fault.
