Maria Estrada Romero has been identified by authorities as the victim in an alleged hit-and-run pedestrian collision that took place in San Diego on November 15. Ms. Romero, a 52-year-old local residemt, was reportedly near the crossing of Kearney Avenue and Cesar Chavez Parkway in the Logan Heights neighborhood. Authorities say that a vehicle described as a white Ford F-150 pickup with a tinted window turned right onto Kearney and struck the woman and continued driving. Ms. Romero was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center with a serious head injury. She sadly died from the injury two days later on November 17. The San Diego Police Department is investigating the crash and seeking out the pickup truck and its driver.
We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the victim during this difficult time.
