Marcelino Escobedo Killed in Tulare Crash; Leonardo Villasenor Charged

Marcelino Escobedo has been identified by authorities as the victim in a pedestrian collision that took place in Tulare on January 9. Mr. Escobedo was crossing Inyo Street at roughly 6:45 p.m. near the crossing with D Street when a vehicle described by authorities as Nissan Quest from the late 20th century. The alleged driver of the car, 50-year-old Leonardo Villasenor then fled the scene without stopping to help, authorities charge. First-responders took Mr. Escobedo to an area hospital where he died a few days later.
