
The 54-year-old Hilmar resident’s bike had its rear-tire hit by a pickup truck, reports indicate.
San Diego, CA, November 30, 2020 — Manuel Lopez Olivas has been identified by authorities as the victim in a motorcycle collision that occurred on November 24 in San Diego. Manuel Olivas, a 54-year-old resident of Hilmar, was riding a motorcycle on the Interstate 805 Freeway prior to 5:25 p.m. when a vehicle described as a pickup truck allegedly tried to merge into his behind him, hitting the back wheel of the bike. The incident cause the victim to lose control of the bike and it went off the freeway near the State Route 163 offramp. First responders arrived but the motorcyclist died at the scene. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the tragic incident and is seeking out witnesses.
