Luis Garibay-Avina, 28, and Damian Avina, 22, have been identified by authorities as the deceased in a collision involving a car and a semi truck that occurred on March 21 in Modesto. The two young men, both residents of Crow’s Nest, were riding in a Volvo on Hart Road with the elder of two at the wheel prior to 6:50 a.m. when they collided with a big-rig on Highway 132, aka Maze Boulevard, driven by Harinder Chhina, a 39-year-old resident of Tracy. The incident occurred at a four-way stop. The two Avinas died at the scene. An investigation is ongoing regarding fault and whether or not either of the vehicles ran-through a red light.
