Lewis Alexander Ort has been identified by authorities as the deceased in a head-on, wrong-way collision that occurred on March 12 in Napa County. Mr. Ort’s 1992 Toyota was reportedly traveling in the wrong direction on Solano Avenue in an unincorporated area when his car struck another a 2004 Porsche head-on. The sports car was driven by Lorene McCaffrey, a 54-year old resident of Napa. Mr. Ort apparently died at the scene from his injuries, while Ms. McCaffrey was treated at an area hospital for non-serious injuries while a child traveling with her was cared for by her father. Police are investigating the tragedy. All parties reportedly were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. The late Mr. Ort was a 47-year-old Angwin resident.
