Leonard Ortiz, a 48 year-old crossing guard for Lugonia Elementary, has been identified by authorities as the victim in an alleged hit-and-run collision that occurred on October 16. The moped was on Colton Avenue in Redlands at roughly 6:30 in the morning when the moped and its driver were struck by a vehicle, which is apparently unknown by authorities. The vehicle is believed to have fled on the nearby 10 Freeway. The deadly collision is currently under investigation.
