Lenette Saubel Dead in Cathedral City Accident; Mario Garcia Under Arrest for Felony DUI

Lenette Saubel has been identified by authorities as the victim in an alleged DUI accident. Mario Garcia reportedly suffered minor injuries; he is reportedly being held on charges of murder and vehicular manslaughter DUI. Mr. Garcia’s overturned car was found on Date Palm Drive in Cathedral City shortly after 2:00 a.m. on October 16. Ms. Saubel, 46, died at the scene, authorities say. A blood alcohol test found that Mr. Garcia was severely intoxicated at the time of the crash, with a blood alcohol in excess of .24 (the legal limit is .08).
