Jovani Maldonaldo Garcia, a 15-year-old resident of Oakland, has been identified by authorities as the victim in a collision that occurred on August 24 in Fremont. The crash occurred shortly after 6:30 p.m. on the 880 Freeway. A Tesla sedan allegedly rear-ended a Ford Ranger pickup truck. The teenager was a passenger in the pickup truck and was thrown from the car. Jovani was taken to Stanford Hospital, where he passed away later. Two others were taken for treatment to a different facility.
