Joshua Washburn has been identified by authorities as the victim in a pedestrian accident that occurred on February 2 in Butte County. Mr. Washburn, a 46-year-old Gridley resident, was driving south on Highway 99 and experienced a breakdown. Another driver, reportedly a friend of the victim, was driving behind Mr. Washburn’s car and also pulled over. At approximately 11:45 p.m., the two started to cross the road. Mr. Washburn was struck by a Toyota driven by 20-year-old Yuba City resident Noah Denhalter. The young man remained at the scene. The tragic incident is being investigated by the California Highway Patrol.
