Joey Branco has been identified by authorities as the victim in a motorcycle collision that occurred on June 22 in Turlock. Mr. Branco, a 50-year-old Atwater resident, was riding a motorcycle on Greenway Avenue at about 2:00 a.m. this morning when a Volkswagen driven by Ernest Valenzuela, a 49-year-old local resident, allegedly turned in front of the cycle’s path from Lander Avenue onto Greenway. The collision killed Mr. Branco at the scene. Meanwhile authorities allege that Mr. Valenzuela fled the scene but an arrest was made at his place of residence. He has been arrested on hit-and-run and manslaughter charges.
