Jerome Ereth II has been named by authorities as the deceased in a November 3 crash that occurred in Corona at around 9:30 in the evening. He was 29 years-old. Mr. Ereth was seated in a Toyota Corolla being driven by 33 year-old Joseph Arias who, like Mr. Ereth, was a Lake Elsinore resident. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) says that the car was on Temescal Canyon Road when it entered opposing traffic after attempting to negotiate a curve. The car then went out of control, crashed into an embankment, and overturned. Neither man was wearing a seatbelt and both were thrown from the vehicle. Both were injured, but Mr. Ereth died with hours of arriving at an area hospital. Mr. Arias was reportedly charged with driving under the influence (DUI).
We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the victim during this difficult time.
