Janet Genao has been identified by authorities as the deceased in a collision that occurred on June 4 in Temecula. Ms Genao, a 44-year-old resident of Murrieta, was driving on the 15 Freeway prior to 7:30 in the morning. Reports indicate that the Nissan Altima the woman was driving was rear-ended and largely destroyed by a Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck. Ms. Genao died at the scene. More collisions ensued, one involving a Chevrolet Tahoe SUV, and a Chevrolet S-10 pick-up, as well as a Toyota Camry and a Tesla Model S. The S-10 reportedly careened off the freeway and into a parking structure for the Temecula City Hall. The drivers of the Tahoe and the Tesla sustained minor injuries while the driver of the S-10 which crashed into the parking building was seriously injured. The driver of the Silverado that alleged caused the carnage and fled the scene, was arrested for multiple charges including murder and DUI. Javier Caldera, a 25-year-old was incarcerated with $1 million bail.
