Holly Rood has been identified by authorities as the victim in a pedestrian collision that occurred on May 6 in San Jacinto. Rood, 25, was walking on De Anza Drive at about 4:20 a.m. when the pedestrian was struck by a Hyundai Elantra near Main Street. The reasons for the tragic accident have not been provided. However, authorities say the car’s driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with authorities. The tragic mishap is being investigated by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, which is seeking out witnesses.
