Benjamin Sterling, a 47-year-old Camarillo resident, and Herbert Hibbard, 74 and resident of Arizona have been identified by authorities as the deceased in a Lockwood dual motorcycle collision that occurred on May 30. Mr. Sterling and Mr. Hibbert, who authorities say appeared to be riding motorcycles together on Highway 33 (also called Maricopa Highway) at some time prior to 12:15 in the afternoon, heading southward. Authorities say that it is possible that one of the motorcyclists lost control of their vehicle, causing the other to crash. Both riders were ejected from their bikes and reportedly perished at the scene from their injuries. An investigation is set, pending notification of next of kin. Neither speed nor a DUI is currently suspected, say area police.
