Guy Shearer has been identified by authorities as the victim in an accident that occurred during a police pursuit in Fresno on April 23. Mr. Shearer, a 48-year-old local resident, was driving a pickup truck on Olive Avenue which was struck by a Ford Mustang. The driver of the Mustang, 33-year-old Roger Harris, had stopped by police after allegedly running through a stop sign and after police say they say a gun in the muscle car, the suspect allegedly fled and crashed into the Mr. Shearer’s truck, causing his death. Police say that Mr. Harris attempted to flee on foot after the collision but was arrested and booked on multiple charges. Police also say that the suspect has a lengthy criminal record of serious offenses, they further allege that the gun in Mr. Harris’s car had been used in recent shootings.
