Gloria Veloz Vasquez, a 46-year-old Tracy resident, has been identified by authorities as the deceased in an incident involving her pickup and two semis that occurred on September 14 in Kern County in or near Lost Hills. Ms. Vasquez was driving a Ford pickup northward on the 5 Freeway at roughly 7:30 p.m. when it and a big rig collided. The pickup rolled over and veered out of lanes where it was hit by another semi driving in the same direction. First responder arrived but Ms. Vasquez died at the scene from her injuries. An individual described as a juvenile was seriously injured and was taken to an area hospital. The drivers of the big-rigs were not injured. The tragic accident remains under investigation.
