Gilberto Alcazar- Lopez and Maria Nieves-Lopez have been identified by authorities as the deceased in a automotive collision that took place in Gardena on December 29. Mr. Alcazar- Lopez, a 40-year-old Rancho Dominguez resident was in a Honda Civicc with Ms. Nieves-Lopez, 39 and a resident of Lynwood, on Vermont Avenue when their car was reportedly struck by a vehicle described as a black-colored Tesla prior to 12:40 a.m. Reports indicate that the car was traveling at a high rate of speed and had ran through a red light leaving the 91 Freeway when it killed the two individuals. The two people inside the Tesla were taken for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. An investigation is ongoing.
