Gilbert Rodriguez II has been identified by authorities as the victim in a motorcycle collision that occurred on July 14 in Bakersfield. Mr. Rodriguez, 22, was riding a motorcycle prior to 6:30 p.m. heading towards the vicinity of South H Street and Hendricks Lane when he collided with a car for reasons that have not been described. He was thrown from the bike and rushed to an area hospital by first-responders but the young man nevertheless died from his injuries. The driver of the car remained at the scene and was cooperative, authorities say. An investigation into the tragic collision is underway.
