Gilbert Benamati, Sean Powers Dead in Sacramento Solo Car Accident

Gilbert Wayne Benamati, 30, and Sean Denzel Powers, 29, have been identified by authorities as the deceased in a single-car collision that occurred on August 27 in Sacramento. The two men were in car that was driving at a high rate of speed on the Capital City Freeway shortly after 1:30 a.m., authorities say. The northbound car that apparently went off of the freeway somewhere near Watt Avenue, flew over a small gorge and collided with some trees, killing both men. Whether Mr. Benamati or Mr. Powers was driving the car has not stated. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the deadly collision.
