Gerald Dolge has been identified by authorities as the victim in a motorcycle collision that occurred on September 1 in Carlsbad. Mr. Dolge, a 39-year-old resident of San Diego, was riding a motorcycle northward on the 5 Freeway when reports say his bike made contact with the back of another vehicle, which has not been described. The collision apparently caused him to the freeway’s center divider. First responders took the man to La Jolla’s Scripps Memorial Hospital, where he remained until passing away on the night of September 10. The tragic collision is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
Our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the victim during this difficult time.
