Felipe Cobian has been identified by authorities as the deceased in a multi-car collision that took place in Baldwin Park on February 19. Mr. Cobian, a 55-year-old Montclair resident, was driving a 1993 Nissan pickup truck on the 10 Freeway around 4:00 a.m. when he struck a Hyundai Santa Fe that was reportedly being driven very slowly by Ana Guillen, a 57-year-old West Covina resident who was allegedly driving under the influence. The force of the collision caused the truck to spin out onto the other side of the freeway, where it was struck by a Honda Accord. Luis Uribe, a 37-year-old resident of Covina, suffered a significant injury and was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Authorities say that Ms. Guillen was given a mental health evaluation at a Kaiser hospital following the accident. The police investigation into the tragic crash is being continued.
We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the deceased during this difficult time and our thoughts go out to the injured man.
