Eve Johnson Dead in Santa Barbara Pedestrian MTD Bus Accident

Eve Debra Johnson has been identified by authorities as the deceased in a pedestrian collision that occurred on October 9 in Santa Barbara. Reports indicate that Ms. Johnson, 67, was sitting on a bus bench near the crossing of Figueroa Street and Chapala Street at roughly 2:20 p.m. when she was struck and killed by an Metropolitan Transit District (MTD) bus. The bus was turning right onto Chapala when it ran over the woman and hit another victim, who was hospitalized with serious injuries. Two passengers in the bus were also injured. The cause of the bizarre and tragic accident remains  under investigation.
