Emily Henz, 13, and Daniel Bruno, 26, have been identified by authorities as the deceased in a car collision that occurred in Red Bluff on June 1. Mr. Bruno and the young teenager, both Elk Grove residents, were riding in a Honda Civic on Paskenta Road in the vicinity of Rancho Tehama Road collision. Authorities allege that the Honda may have been stolen and that Mr. Bruno was driving excessively fast and veered into the path of a 2003 Ford E250 van, which hit the car with great force, killing the man and child inside it. The van, authorities say, did not have time to stop. Nevertheless, reports also indicate that the van’s driver may have left the scene in another car, a Honda, prior to the arrival of police. The California Highway Patrol in Red Bluff is investigating the tragic crash.
