
Elizabeth Marcia Chick was driving a Honda Civil that was crushed by hay bales that fell off a truck’s trailer.
Bella Vista, CA, November 12, 2020 — Elizabeth Marcia Chick has been identified by authorities as the victim in collision involving her car and truck that occurred on November 10 in Bella Vista. Elizabeth Chick, a 51-year-old resident of Ione, was driving a Honda Civic at about 10:00 a.m. on Highway 299 near Sugar Pine Camp Road when a truck with a trailer was carrying bales of hay ahead of her car. The truck turned off the road with the trailer when some of the bales fell off of the trailer and struck her car. Reports indicate that the severely damaged car then rolled into a lane of traffic where it was struck by a van, killing Ms. Chick. Fortunately, no other injuries occurred. Reports indicate that the California Highway Patrol is investigating the fatal crash to determine it’s cause, including why the bales fell into the road and onto the Honda.
